i want to get a tattoo but is it a sin and if so why? im cathloic by the way

yeah it is a sin im lds, and your body is a temple, harmful to your spirituality not to other people or you physically. thats just how it is

You might want to consider if your body is yours, or if it is God's. If you believe your body is a temple, and it is best to keep it clean and open to inspiration, you might want to think twice about getting a tattoo. Even a religious design would look better on a T-shirt instead of your skin. Tattoos are very difficult to remove later on, and if you wouldn't feel comfortable in front of Jesus Christ with a tattoo, then don't get one.

well in my religion islam it is a huge sin n we belive if we get tattoo we r onli pleseing the devil and giving in to his temptations.. and as far as my knowledge about christainty n all that is related to that religion. i belive it is sin as well. cuz yu are ruining yur body that God gave y u to treasur n take kare of...well i wuldnt get the tatoo cuz i have one i got b4 i became muslim i was hindu before and i really regret it ive been going to 6 lazor surgerys to get it off and the man said black ink is easiest but the lady who did my tatoo did so many layers its not comming off so my only option is to burn my skin :( so save yurself from the torture n pain n from the angerness of God, when God is not happy with yu then yur screwed...but its yur body yur religion yur beliefs n yur life do whut yu feel in y ur heart..

I'm Catholic and tatooed. Catholics don't see this as a sin. Jews do. Muslims do. not sure who else....but we drink, dance, gamble, pierce, and tattoo. your body is the temple of the lord...it's up to you to decorate it!
