My great nephew is 3. He has been caught with another child his grandma babysits, doing inappropriate things. Two weeks ago they had their shirts off under the covers kissing. Last week they got caught with her pants down under a blanket. Then 2 days ago they got caught with his pants off, on top of her in the hallway. What advice do I give my sister?
Also, the little girls mom just laughs when my sister has brough it up, she says things like "kids will be kids".
Is this a normal take on a situation like this?
They are only 3!
Please help me to help her.
Thanks in advance....

It's clear that your great nephew has witnessed some vivid adult intimacy at a very young age. It could have been from him walking in on someone having sex, seeing something on T.V. or in a movie. Children, especially at the age of three, mirror adult behavior. It's a very natural reaction. Simply sit him down & ask what he is doing the next time he acts up. He will most likely not understand what his imatiting actions mean.

Do NOT tell him what he is doing is dirty or wrong! Though he is very young, he may supress any negative thoughts of sexual contact & carry that into his adult life. Be kind & clear that it is only appropriate for him to hug or hold hands. He will eventually grow tired of these actions. Good luck!

This is serious. These children need to be taught better and taught that this is not appropriate behavior. You need to tell your sister if the girl just laughs about it maybe the two children shouldt be around each other for a while.
If this dosnt stop now it will only get worse. He is seeing this behavior somewhere movies, parents, friends, etc.
Whoever he is learning this from needs to stop doing this act in front of him. If it gets any worse the best is to get this child some help soon.

They have learned the behavior somewhere .... either being molested, has seen porn, or has personally witnessed the parents having sex.

Yes, kids will explore somewhat -- but this type of behavior has very definite sexual overtones and is NOT normal. There is a problem somewhere.

I have heard of children doing this before... I'm more worried about where the child learned this behavior from though???

yes it is very normal for kids to do this. don't be too hard on them. they are just curious humans. don't leave them alone together and just gently discourage the activity by distraction. don't shame them or make them feel bad. check on them often so you can disrupt it early.
