Are you kidding me? I love this world! I would love to never leave it, but then I would see others around me, and most importantly the people I love, die and that would be torture. As someone else here said, the only way I would be kinda happy is if the whole world was immortal, but then that would be really bad because:
1: Babies would keep being produced, which would cause the planet to be overpopulated, And if babies stopped being produced, then the world would always be filled with the same people, and that would be boring and probably get very tiring, as to the point that you'll wish you could die. There would be no children to brighten your days.
2: We would still be getting older, and older, and older, which would make us weaker every day, which, even though it may not lead to death, it would be once again torture. The only solution for this problem would be everlasting youth, which would deprive us of a phase in our lives. Imagine never getting to experience being a granny.
3: Life will get tiring. You would feel as if you've tried everything and there's nothing left to do...
I could go on and on and on but...
No thanks. Things are the way they are for a reason.

Immortal? No. Unaging, however, would not be so bad. I would definitely still want to be able to die if I so chose. I mean just imagine the horrible things that could happen if you could never die? Being buried for thousands of years would certainly suck. In the most extreme case, where the earth is destroyed or you get stranded outside it's gravity somehow, you're in for millenia of floating through space, and then an eternity of swimming around in the sun's chromosphere. Yay. Sure, fun for a couple of days, but eternity? No one's sanity could withstand that.

I want to be immortal just so I can taste every food on the planet. It would also be cool to start a bunch of really long term projects and actually finish them, like builting a great pyramid by myself.

Because while I might not experience the pain of personal death, I will experience the loss of all those who I love (unless all of humanity achieves immortality, which creates an enormous set of problems). I will also still suffer from all the diseases and ailments that a mortal human suffers, but will never ever be released/relieved of them, no matter how severe they become.

If I was immortal, I wouldtherefore want to kill myself tomakelifeexciting forme.
unfortunately,I would not succeed, makingme even more depressed.
Eventually, Ill end up in a mental hospital, and stay there for the next 10000000 years.

No, it would be sad to pass through time making friends, loves, and family and watch pass on as the years go by. If anything it would get boring, history tends to repeat itself a bit. Dying of course presents a big unknown so its understandable to be afraid of it a bit, its all part of the adventure as far as I'm concerned so I will just pass the bridge when I get to it, I might just have to reconsider.

hmmm...tough one.
I guess all of us have that desire to be immortal.
What people don't realize is that immortality is seen in the following:
1) After you die, whatever you've said or done will remain to be remembered by future generations. and
2) After you die, your children will, in one way or another, inherit your legacy.
As for the physical immortality, that's just a dream, even cryogenics can't stop death, it only delays it theoretically (no one's been brought back from cryogenic sleep).
Peace.

Immortality is a human delusion. It does not exist. We are tied to the Sun. When the Sun burns out, we burn out. Simple.
