feed it
while it's eating gently stroke the cat
little by little, every day learn to approach the cat in a gentle, slow, loving way....but start by feeding it.

Food is the way to a cat's heart but remember we are dealing with cats. If the cat decides she don't like you there just might not be anything you can do about it. after all it is a cat.

Cats are like people. They either like you or they don't. Some cats take time to get to know you. You can't MAKE a cat like you.

I had a cat once who didn't like my Dad. The only person in the world she didn't like, and it had to be my Dad! When he ignored her she was fine in the room with him but if he approached to pet her, she spit and growled. Eventually he came over one day after work and didn't have on his usual aftershave and WALLA my cat was fine with him. In the girl's case it might be her perfume.

That's a tough one. I have a ten year old cat who cannot stand my best friend. She has despised her for her entire life. She's tried everything from ignoring kitty to talking really sweet to her,(which really sets her off) and she still wants my friend dead.
Kitty will even hiss and spit at me if I've been at her house and smell like her.
It kills my friend because she wants kitty to like her so badly.
I hope things work out better for your friend.

Just tell you friend to pet it, feed it, and get it some toys and play with it, and cuddle with it. the cat will eventually warm up to her.

Ignore it!......Honestly!
Cats are more interested in you if you turn your eyes away rather than stare directly at them.

Try it!
