did you know that the letters in the first line of a typewriter (and computer) spell typewriter? this is so salesmen could demonstrate its purposes easier. interesting fact since you gave us one. :)
but actually he didn't invent the typewriter. the letters composing the first line was the reason i stated above.

actually the order of keys was designed to slow down typing
the first type writers where designed with different arrangements
some had the letters of the alphabet in order. the problem was many people would jam them by typing to fast they would catch the previous letter stamp and jam up
the current design put the letters in such a irrational way that it was much harder to jam them because the arrangement slowed you down. and we have stayed with it ever since
