I heard you can lose weight while fasting. I want to try it , but I want to know about anybodys past fasting experiences. Did you feel good after the fast, did you lose weight, did you gain the weight back? I need answers from people that KNOW what they are talking about, as in you have had an experience fasting, or know someone who fasts regularly. Ho do I start, and when do I know when to stop. Please only answers from experience, this is very important. Also what are the health benefits of fasting?

Hi,
The purpose of fasting is to rest your body. This is because most energy in our body is used for digestion. When you fast, you are able to redirect this energy to be used for detoxification, adjustment and healing in the body.
When this happens and your body undergoes massive detox, you are likely to lose weight.
Yes, fasting can feel good.. after you get over the first few days of not eating. It is however not advisable to completely stop intake of nutrients because if you do, you probably would not be able to fast for long.
Usually when I fast (I have fasted 6 times at least in the past 4 years and am currently fasting.. have done it for 2.5weeks already), I would drink fruit juices and I also take health food to supplement my nutrients and energy level so that my fasting gives me better results.
The first time I fasted, I lost 15kg within 2 months. Yes, I fasted for 2 months ;) (You can see my picture here: http://dreamsincredibles.blogspot.com/2005/10/angel-lost-15kg-within-2-months.html ) I have maintained my weight for 3 years till I got pregnant and gave birth to my son.
Because of this, I am an 'expert' at fasting and have guided countless people with it.
Fasting requires alot of pre-prep, strict and close guidiance during fasting and very stringent post fasting procedures. Only when you follow closely, will you be able to reap great results like added radiance, added vitality, improved health, weight loss...
I will NOT recommend that you do fasting:
- If you do not have any fasting mentor (do it wrongly and you might do more harm to your body. I had people who fasted and did not follow post fast procedures and in the end had their faces turn black)
- If you are not well prepared mentally for it
- If you do not fast using additional health food like me. I use the HUNZA range of Indinine and VPlus to give my body ENERGY and NUTRIENTS when I fast so that I dun feel weak all over when I fast and so that I retain my metabolic rate.
What is your main aim?
DO you want to LOSE WEIGHT or are you looking for detox? If you want to lose weight, how much do you want to lose and in how long or how short a time?

Fasting will not make you lose weight. If you don't eat your metabolism actually slows down, and you will gain weight or have a harder time losing weight. Don't fast. If you want to lose weight why don't you try eating alot of fruits, vegetables, and low fat foods, and drink only water. It works. A little exercise, like walking, doesn't hurt either.

Ya dont fast just to fast ya fast for spiritual reasons! Just eat a healthy balanced diet of fresh fruits fresh vegetables whole grains NO white junk like white flour sugar rice and breads you should have good rersults with exercise too.

i fast for religion reasons and you don't eat from dawn to dusk
you can wake up around 4 in the morning and eat a normal breakfast then Around 6 at night eat as much as you want which is not as much as you think it really helps you lose weight there are no real health concerns
