i really want to improve. I want to get into UCB, or atleast another good school, but i don't know what to do. I have read books by barrons, kaplan etc. etc.

Also don't say hire a tutor, that's to expensive.

I say try the SAT. Some of my friends scored extremely low on the SAT and scored high on the ACT. Others scored low on the ACT and high on the SAT. So you might be like them and do the opposite. Try your chances with the SAT.

All I can tell you is I scored so low on the ACT and the SAT that my scores reflected a person who is mentally and developmentally impaired. And I graduated 8th in my class from high school! I have no idea why I did so poorly, but I went on to college, and I have enjoyed a wonderful career for almost 20 years.

I probably couldn't have gone to a really prestigious school -- I take that back. There is no way I could have gone to a prestigious school, but I attended a very well-respected university, and my low scores have never affected my adult life.

Those scores were obviously totally humiliating, but you can see that I got over it, and now it's a family joke.

Bottom line is you'll be fine.
