Is the God of Christians, Jews and Islamics the same God? If so what names are God given in each religion?

Okay, given 20 people have answered it is pretty clear that most who answered do not even realize that the God of Christians and the Jews is the same God of Muslims....really folks the question was rhetorical....so this is not rhetorical....if we all believe in the same God why all the division in the world?

Same for the Christian and Jew but not so sure about the Islamics. Jehovah, Creator, I AM, Lord, many more than I can even think of here right now. Islamic calls God Allah and is basically the same God but just believe some things different.

The Christian God is the same as the Jewish God, YHWH.... But NOT the Islamic God, Allah, contrary to popular belief....

You see this is the word of the JudeoChristian God, the Bible...

"Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you."- Matthew 5:44

And this is the word of Allah, the Quran

"Fight and slay the pagans( Christians, Jews, and non-Muslims) wherever you find them, and sieze them , beleagur them, and lie in wait for them in every strategem( of war)."- Surah 9:5, the Quran...

There are many such verses in the quran as these...

You see Jesus and all of His followers were Jewish... Jesus was a Rabbi and His father was YHWH the JudeoChristian God....

However Islam has been an enemy of Jews and Christians from day one of their religion... they started the Holy war against us... their Quran forbids Muslims to befriend us...

But the ties between Jews and Christians go way back... Even though the medevil Church was corrupted by paganism and anti semetism... and hypocrite religious power hugery church leaders that said it was the" will of God" for them to fight the Crussades... No it was the evil religious hypocrites will... Those people didn't even allow Christians to read the Bible...

when you stray from the peace and love of others and the bond between Christians and Jews in the Bible... the will of God is not fufilled...

Anti Semetism makes me vomit!- I love the Jewish people and Israel, they are God's chosen... their Messiah was Jesus... without the Jewish faith, Christianity would not exist...

The Christians sould be the Jews best friend when the whole world is antisemetic...

But Allah is not the God of Christians and Jews.... read the Quran and the Bible which includes the Oldtestament( the Jewish Torrah) you will see the difference...

NOTE TO MUSLIMS: I am not calling you a terrorist, and I believe that many of you are good and peaceful Muslims, you tend to ignore the many violent verses of the Quran... but that is Allah's word... and it is violent and abusive....

God bless...

There is for certain, only one true God. His name is Jehovah. There are many other idols which are called gods, but they are nothing more than statutes, or man-made idols. Worshipping one of them is about as beneficial to a person, as going out and worshipping a tree stump. There is absolutely no life in them, and neither can they give life or anything beneficial to life to any person. Many Jews believe in God Jehovah, but I cannot say for certain that all of them do; even though Jesus Christ the Son of God, was born a Jew; who was actually God in the flesh; Who came to make a way for us all to be forgiven for our sins; and that way being through his own blood which He shed on the cross of Calvary. I have no idea who Islamics god is. But you can rest assured, that if it is not Jehovah; which I feel pretty certain that it is not; then they worship a thing; which is nothing more than an idol; not a person.

I believe that there is a higher power. I cannot imagine how this world and universe could exist by any other means than intelligent design, it is beyond human comprehension.

I also think that this higher power is the same God for the Jews, Christians and Muslims. Remember, all three of these groups believe in Abraham, Moses, and other prophets. Islam also proclaims that Jesus is one of their prophets, although their view of Jesus is quite a bit different than the Christian view.

In this way, it seems to me that God has been sending his message to all of us on this Earth, and certain groups of thought (religions) have interpreted his message differently. Sometimes, vastly differently, to the point of major conflict. All of these Abrahamic religions though claim a congruent tenet, that God knows all. Yet somehow, the people of this Earth, in all faiths, prove their fallibility by assuming they know all, or know best.

I think religion itself as an institution has great many strengths and great many weaknesses. One of the greatest strengths is that of passing on the message. Religions serve as a tool to educate, and they have set up systems with which to learn their respective faiths. However, in doing so, they have instituted "standards" of belief. If one choses to disagree with one of these "standards", then they are not a part of that religion. So these standards can become a weakness, because if I choose to disagree with one little standard, then I may have alienated myself from that religion.

For instance, let's say that I consider myself a Christian, because I believe in Jesus' teachings. But I do not believe that he rose from the dead. Maybe I also believe that he was the most important prophet, but not God's son, or Lord on Earth. What does that make me? I don't think I can be called a Jew or a Christian. In fact, my view of Jesus is actually closer to a Muslim view, than a Jewish or Christian view. But I don't believe in Mohammed as a prophet, so I'm not Muslim either. Seems that I don't fit in any of the major Abrahamic religions.

So instead of asking any of these religions what they think, why not just ask God. Afterall, he is the one that knows all. I believe that there is one God over all, and I believe that your relationship with God is a very personal one. Religion can be of great value, but ultimately what you believe should be based on your relationship with God. By all means, read scriptures, read the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Qu'ran. But don't forget to ask God what he thinks. Abraham had a personal relationship with God, and that's how he found his path in life. I think that should be our primary means of finding our own path as well.

NO!!! The "god" of islamics is satan. He has deceived them into thinking what they believe. The "god" of jews and christians is the same. Although "god" is not his Name, it is YHVH, pronounced YAH-VEH. He sent His son, YHVHSHUA (YAH-VEH-SHUA, or YAH-VEH is Salvation), He is the one that is the perfect passover lamb. Jews haven't received Him YET, but they are preparing the way. Christianity has done away with YHVH's commands, but Jews haven't. This is where the two differ. Christians accept the Messiah, but reject the written law, i.e. sabbath, festivals, etc. But Jews accept these, yet reject Messiah. These two will be brought together in the end when Messiah comes to restore the two houses of Eprhaim and Judah.

Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. The Israeli God is the God of the Old Testament. We do believe in Him.http://www.ccci.org/wij/ If you read the two links you will see the difference.http://www.carm.org/seek/God.htm
We each have our set of beliefs they are one and the same but viewed differently.

Christians worship G-d who sent His Son to die for our sins. Most Jews still reject this and Muslims reject this as well. G-d is basically called that in each religion but if any one of them is right, the other two are not. It looks like G-d Himself will have to settle this. I think He will soon.

It doesn't matter one bit what you call the great power...God or otherwise...as long as you recognize the power and acknowledge that you are no good judge of the long range plan - give it up to God/the Creator...meet ya there stranger...be you Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddist, etc...but the rules apply...if you're a mean and self centred SOB, you'll be coming back here repeatedly until you get it right...anyway, that's what I believe.

yes the same god Allah is what muslims call him , god is what chirstians call him ,yahweh or yahova is what jews call him , same god but differences created by prophets. the arabs (muslims) exist due to abrahams sin when he didnt believe god when he said his elderly wife would bear a son , so he took her maid hagar and had a son , when issak was born thru sarah god told him to send his other son ishmael away but he would also make a great nation of him but beacuse of his sin the ismaelites (arabs)would always be a thorn in the side of isreal.
