How much do you think it would be to stay at a hotel in manhattan for a day or 2, see a broadway play, eat and shop? I know it's expensive, but how expensive?

it costs anywhere from $150- $250 for a broadway play per person depending on where you sit.A hotel in manhattan dpeends on the location all are expensive but say if you got one right next to times square which would be about a thousand and UP as opposed to one downtown which would be hundreds a night. You're better off eating at a T.G.I. fridays or OLive garden their are both of those in times square which would be about 10-15 $ per meal. also little italy & china town [[canal st]] are good places to eat. The zeppoles in little italy are reelee good & the duck in a certain restaurant in china town is reelee good also...now shopping it depends where you want to go if you have children their is the toys r' us with the ferris wheel and candy land and all different sectiions and theirs macy's which has more variety than anywehre else...theirs PLENTY of tourist gift shops on every block and every corner with snowglobes & postcards & t-shirts & all that crap.

You can do it inexpensively if you choose to. Not many people do. Stay in midtown and you can walk to most places. We went to a play (Producers) and were in the balcony for $45 each. Also, the Opera. Shop, but don't buy. Visit Rockefeller Center and Central Park, no cost. Take the subway to the twin towers site and back. We found a grocery store near Carnigie Hall that had a hot & cold food counter where the prices were reasonable. It cost us $150 for dinner and we don't drink so avoid these places. We stopped for cheesecake after a show and that cost $25. Go to the grocery store instead. A room will cost I would guess $100 to $200 and up per night. You won't stay in it a lot however. I hope this helps.

you could arrange all that for under 200 if you stayed in a not-so-nice hotel for a couple days.
