Yes. -- I have Windoz on me first drive and Linux on my second. As we 'write' I am using Linux.

What is it like? -- When I first turn on my pc, the master boot record (MBR) brings up 'Grub', a linux program that displays a menu showing both OS's. I select which one I want and it boots up.

When I first installed Linux, I did it on a new 2nd HD. Windoz was already on the 1st HD. The Linux installation installed Grub and Linux. Everything went very smoothly.

I have since changed linux distributions and the reinstall of the 2nd linux distribution went smoothly. I've been lucky with Linux.

Also there are 'live CDs' of several linux distributions. Live CDs may be booted up and you can sample linux without installing on your HD. Of course your bios must be set to boot to your CD/DVD drive before the HD.
Good Luck and enjoy Linux.

Assuming the CPU is compatible with Mac OS X, it's no problem, but I believe it may be illegal... Ah well! Note: I know this works with XP and Vista, bubt I'm unsure about XP and OS X, because you use the Vista instalation disk to finish it off by pointing the boot sector to Vista again. I don't know if the XP disk has this. If you are using the same hard disk, partition it for the size of the minimum requirement of the OS, and a bit more for whatever you plan to use it for. Install OS X, put in the XP disk and do "Repair my computer" in one of the options... Wherever it is... Boot back into XP and install EasyBCD, which is a Dual Boot program... This should give an option when you turn on your PC to boot into XP or OS X! Hope this works. I don't think a virus could transfer disks, seeing as XP shouldn't be able to read the OS partition, or vice versa.

Sure, I have win 98 on my C drive & xp on my D drive. I'm sure it can be done with linux also. You could either install a boot manager program of some sorts, or select the boot drive in bios. If you have scsi drives, you could have several drives & operating systems to choose from.

Not at the same time. You can have, say, Windows and Linux installed on two different drives and choose between them when you start the machine up, but you can't have both running at once.

not at the same time..... - maybe if you had a dual core, you'd be able to do something weird..... you can load different OS on separate HDs and go into dual-boot mode - but you'll still boot from one hard drive or the other

ABSOLUTELY!! but you must decide which one is the slave and which is the master drive, the default will be the OS in the master drive. and it will prompt you when you boot up to pick which OS you want.

LMAO LOL...2-D's fan what are you talking about two monitors?

Yep. the one configured as the master drive is the one that will boot up with its O/S.

You will have to boot to which ever OS you want to use and when done with that, re-boot to get it no the other OS
