Iron won't make you gain weight. It is responsible for carrying oxygen in the bloodstream so lack of it will make you tired and lethargic. If you are eating too much red meat that is not lean than that could contribute to weight gain. Iron is also found in green leafy vegetables and to have maximum absorption of iron eat it with Vit. C rich foods.
