I don't believe these biblical myths to be anywhere near true, but I was wondering if all of you Christians actually believe this?

Lilith was cast out of Eden for NOT LETTING ADAM CONTROL HER.

If this is true, I believe she had every right as her own person! You actually think men are better than woman and that females should be meek and tame to their male 'masters'? That Lilith was evil because she wouldn't let another human being take control of her? If that's evil than there sure are a lot of evil women in the world today. Hell, you even believe Eve was just some stupid naive broad that didn't understand and ruined it for everyone. So all women are stupid, naive and evil by default or something?
I'm not a feminist but I do believe in equal treatment, no more no less.

So please, explain yourselves.

I've heard from numerous Christians that they believe Lilith DID exist.

Frasier divorced Lilith because she was a frigid ice queen.

I do not believe Lilith was a real person. She appears as a fairy tale in Jewish myth; the character was a djiin (genie) and not even human.

You may as well as speculate on the social customs of elves and leprechauns. It would be a lot more fun!

NO, I don't believe that men are "better" than women, or that females should consider men their "masters". That is domineering, pigheaded, male-supremacist theory, used by many to push women around because they (the men guilty of this) are insecure in their manhood and their faith.

Jesus never taught any of this crap! Look at how He interacted with women: he set them free from such shysters and hypocrites.

I don't know about Christians, but I know Jews don't claim the text that the story of Lilith is from, the Alphabet of Ben Sira, a much later work not part of Biblical or Talmudic lore. Indeed it appears to have been written as a satire or a parody for the story of Lilith isn't the only one in the work, but it's a collection of stories taking biblical characters and portraying them in all sorts of wacky, warped, and generally unflattering ways. It's been widely mistranslated and misinterpreted.

If Eve exists then why not Lilith? You ask a good question here and I agree that it is confusing and shows a definite sexism that I know most Christians would like to ignore, but ignoring something doesn't make it any less true.

Lilith was believed to be an evil spirit by many cultures but was NOT in Eden. This is a myth just like being an evil spirit.

Lilith was no where in the bible it was Eve, Lilith would'nt have been in the Garden of Eden because after the tree of good and evil no human was aloud in there. So i don't have to explain myself because i don't believe it.

There was no Lilith, its a myth.

Just because you hear from 'numerous Christians' that they believe that she existed it doesn't mean that all Christians believe that myth. Why would Christians believe in Hebrew mythology? Christians read The Bible, and that story is not in the Bible....

The real story....

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis%202:18-25;&version=50;
Eve was taken from Adam's rib...

"This companion was taken from his side to signify that she was to be dear unto him as his own flesh. Not from his head, lest she should rule over him; nor from his feet, lest he should tyrannize over her; but from his side, to denote that species of equality which is to subsist in the marriage state"
-Matthew Henry(on why eve was taken from Adam's side)
I think thats a great way to look at it.

The passage in Genesis 1:27 — "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female he created them" (before describing a mate being made of Adam's rib and being called Eve in Genesis 2:22) is sometimes believed to be an indication that Adam had a wife before Eve.

Here is what I found it to say. Guess they never get around to explaining themselves tho. Do you think god is kicking himself in the *** for not letting her stay especially after eve got adam to eat the apple lol.

Lillith was a non-existant woman.

p.s. Where is it written that Adam "controlled" Eve? Eve was made from Adam's rib; symbolic that they were equal; to go through life side by side.
Remember, it was Eve who talked Adam into eating of the fruit.

Lilith actually left the Garden freely, according to The Alphabet of Ben-Sira, which would make her free of original sin. Which I think is kind of cool, her "independence" makes her the only truly innocent human
