If the Bible theory is correct then Adam and Eve were created perfect and the children they had were still close enough to perfection that they could intermingle with each other and have babies that were not at risk for deformities like today. If, with each generation we get farther and farther from perfection, then naturally there is more risk in having offspring with close relatives that have birth defects. Back then, as more generations were born, the cousins were farther and farther apart until today, when maybe technically we might be something like 5600th cousins 970 times removed, and it no longer poses a risk to intermingle and have a child with someone you meet. Does this make any sense? I need another glass of Reisling.

Ok, people - yes, they did marry cousins, but so do a lot of people still today. (After all - we all got off Noah's boat...we were all cousins back then...So we all have the same "grandpa.")
Go to Genesis chapter 6. It tells about how the "...sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose..."
Now who were these "sons of God?" Some say they were fallen angels, some just say angels, some say that it was the godly line of Seth, and the daughters of men were the ungodly line of Cain.
I personally didn't live back then, so I couldn't tell you who they were. But I can tell you that to bicker about something so irrelevant is childish, and to engage in it is illegal, and very destructive to the person who is being abused. I really hope that your question is just a question, and that no one in your house is being hurt. If so I pray that you get what you deserve.
(And none of it is good.)

Everyone from Noah's Ark was either married or cousins, supposedly, so that doesnt really count. Cousins still marry in many countries, even mexico. And the Old Testament laid down very strict laws pretty soon after that. It was no longer neccessary or needful, so anyone who did it was just being selfish and indulgent of their own sick desires.

In the beginning, people had to have children with relatives because there simply was no one else. However, once the Earth had a large enough population, it was no longer necessary. If you think about it, we have a lot of health issues because of ancestors who were born because of incest. For example, hemophilia.

Strangely enough, despite the implied incest in the Bible, Leviticus hands out stern punishments such as death by stoning or burning for incest, - the punishment dependent on what type of relative you have sex with.

Middle Eastern Religions evolve. So, it was acceptable back then, but they discovered that inbreeding produces birth-defects so "they" decided it wasn't worth it.
So, the religon evolved into reversing the practice.
So, it is considered taboo by more bureaucracies than just those that Head Middle Eastern Cults (and their spin-offs).
If you study Christianity--or any Middle Eastern Cult (including their dirivitives that have evolved from them), you will find crimes against Humanity that makes Hitler look like a preschool playground bully.

Intelligent question. Point well taken. The Bible just doesn't have all the answers, as so many would like to believe and teach others, making them twice the sons and daughters of Hell that they are already.

i suppose its viewed as a necessity. the bible talks of not laying with anyone in your family. even your brothers wife. remember, we are living in new testament times, not the old. theres a different set of laws, but incest even in the old testament was wrong. read more about it and you will find the answer

I am an atheist but I want to help the believers at this point. For a few generations, it could be working like in the case of "Virgin" Mary giving birth to Jesus Christ. lol

Incest was acceptable before the earth was heavily populated, once it was, it was no longer accepted and God had it written in the Law.
