If you really love and respect her, then you'll want her to be happy, and if being with this guy makes her happy, then you'll leave her alone.
Whatever you do, don't make friendly with her just to ask her out once they break up. Us girls think that you've been faking being interested in us as a person just cause you wanna get laid. Be honest; tell her you like her, tell her you'll be waiting when she's ready for someone to treat her like the queen she is. And then you'd better bloody well be good to her if she dumps this guy for you. But she probably won't. Women say they'll get rid of their man for whomever they're having an affair with, but they usually don't.

Basically, you want to know what you can do to stand out against this other guy in the hopes that she will find you more appealing and choose you over him, right? If you have to jump through hoops to get the girl, it may not be worth it. She should be able to look at you just as you are and determine whether or not you do it for her. My only suggestion is be yourself, and hang in there. Be that guy who's always there to pick up the pieces when dating disasters happen, and for now, just be her friend. Patience pays off- and when she's through dating a number of guys to figure out what type she wants to settle down with, in the end, you will still be in the picture, and she will grow to appreciate the fact that in the end, you were always there- and THAT is what will stand out in comparison to all those other guys. to show your respect, back off.... give her the space she needs to make her own choice.... she knows you are waiting in the back ground, and if that is what you are willing to do, then fine... but dont push her into something she might regret or feels is wrong on her part..... God bless
