"Yes it is" is a good example that you can, but if I said "why do you ask," THEN you would pose another question! Wait! If i said yes it is then you ask me why, so then it's not possible! Wow! I never noticed you could ask and ask and ask! Thanks!

I'm not sure I understand your question. As I've commented before, most of the questions are cryptic; in other words, they are hard to answer because they don't provide enough information -- similar to yours. Therefore, people have to ask more questions in order to give reasonable answers.

You also could be saying that one answer leads to another. So I don't see what's wrong with that, unless you want to explain further.

yes and no. example..

is it 3 o'clock? no... then you have to ask another for more information.

what time is it? 3 o'clock... job done game over.

usually do is are questions require the asker to ask another question whereas a wh question will get you a better answer... listen to interviewers, they rarely ask do/is/are questions if they do then they will get one word answers.

it also depends on how keen you are on getting information

That's a good question. I think it isn't. I think that's how your brain works. Every new piece of information brings about doubts on further information. You can always stop asking, but if you wanted, you could go on asking for as long as you wanted.

I would have to say.. maybe. It would depend on the type of question and to whom you were asking said question. If you were to ask someone who wasn't so bright then you run the risk of having them ask you the standard WHY????????????
