The Chuch delares it a sinful act since it defeats the purpose that sexual activities are only for pre-creation only.

The same argument goes to pre-marital sex and other sexual related activies. The church maintains that sex should be done in a proper manner and should be exercised with caution. it is prescribed by the church only with an a partner of the opposite sex duly anointed through marriage.

The only reference in the bible about this activity is Onan if Im not mistaken. it was described that Onan spilled his "seed" and was condemned for doing that.

However this activity, I think is already a majority if not a universal and common activity. Is there someone who doesnt "you know"...
Personally, for me it is much better to commit to such activity than to result in raping or molesting other people. I think the bad thing with this kind of habit is that people tend to commit rape in the mind. By thinking sexually of someone while doing it makes it bad. People need to treat people with respect and not to make fantasies out of them... ayt?

Many religions would discourage it or "ban" it. Why? Because many religions repress sexuality. You cannot control a fully expressed, sexual being. Religion is all about control.

Do what feels good to you. Try finding a partner to help out once in awhile.

I wish you Peace.

Eh, if you're Christian, than it is considered a sinful thing within that religion. I don't think many other religions thinks of it as a bad thing or 'evil', though... I know mine doesn't, we think of sexuality as a beautiful gift to humanity for pleasure AND creating life.

So if you're not Christian you can probably go right ahead, lol.

Kind of a gray area. My suggestion, if you want to stop just stop, if you don't want to then don't. The fact that you are looking for a reason to stop indicates to me that you fall in the first group
