I took Hydroxycut pills in low dosage (2 a day) for 2-3 months about 5 years ago. I ended up with some severe side-effects such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, inability to remember, impotence and mood swings. I am wondering if anyone else who has used these herbal pills have encountered these side effects and how they have been able to deal with it or used medications to overcome these side-effects. Are there any good websites, books, papers, resources online or offline that give a better insight into ephedrine, its side-effects and overcoming them. Any help on this matter truly will gladly accepted, deeply appreciate and gratefully acknowledged.

The sysmtoms normally reported from ephedra and/or caffine are a feeling like "the jitters", and if taken in large quantities, you will have insomnia.

You'd never experience anxiety and impotence and the other symptoms you describe. That's an indicator of an entirely different problem, but the caffine and ephedra may increase the effects of the anxiety.

Ephedra is a completely natural herb (Ma Huang) and has been used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years. Only the synthesized version ephedrine (which is used in asthma medicine, etc) can be used to make meth.

For mor einfo on ephedra, hit the wikipedia (reference below).

ephedrine is not herbal. it is used to make methamphetamines. i suffered from depression and ended being a meth addict for about 8 yrs. after i quit using, i began showing manic symptoms. i was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. i know that the meth caused the mania. i take antidepressants, and antipsychotics for the hypomania. i suggest seeing a psychiatrist. your brain's neurotransmitters have obviously been affected and can be regulated with medication. in the meantime, look at websites about bipolar disorder. read up on the symptoms and see if they sound familiar. i bet they will. mood swings tells me that they vary between up and down, and that sounds like me!!

I doubt if it was the pills. The symptoms you describe are totally consistent with depression. The anxiety, impotence and all the rest, I remember well. Read my story on how I got over it:

Male sexual arousal is a complex process that involves the brain, hormones, emotions, nerves, muscles and blood vessels. To solve the erectile dysfunction i suggest to check this natural method https://tr.im/4Tev5 .
Erectile dysfunction can result from a problem with any of these. Likewise, stress and mental health problems can cause or worsen erectile dysfunction. Sometimes a combination of physical and psychological issues causes erectile dysfunction. For instance, a minor physical problem that slows your sexual response may cause anxiety about maintaining an erection. The resulting anxiety can lead to or worsen erectile dysfunction.

I've heard it might reason dry mouth, nausea, heartburn, dizziness, impaired capability to function a motor automobile, lack of sexual want, and an erection lasting for greater than 4 hours. You will have to see your surgeon in the event you revel in emotions of euphoria or an urge to hear Barry Manilow. Other than that, I suppose they're flawlessly risk-free.
