I am assuming you mean pre-trial. It's a small hearing to see if an actual hearing is really needed with jury members. They "quickly" go over the case and the judge decided if it should go forward.

I think you mean a pretrial hearing. In a legal case it is a hearing held before the trial starts to settle issues that can be taking care of before the trial. It saves time and helps set the calendar. If you are facing one make sure you have an attorney present to represent you and your rights.

It's a hearing where the involved ppl appear in court to have the judge determine if there is enough evidence to go to trial. If not, the case is dismissed. However, if there is evidence sufficient to go to trial...both plaintiff and defendant should seek legal counsel

a pre trail hearing is when they are looking for money to build the trail.But a pre trial hearing is when they decide how badly to screw you.

It is where they decide in court if there is enough evidence to send your case to trial or dismiss.

Essentially a date you attend at court where they figure out (metaphorically) how high they are going to hang you and how.
