Drinking alcoholic beverages: SHORT TERM: lost of self-inhibiton (can't control yourself), may cause loss of short term memory (that is why some claims they can't remember what they just did), the unusual sweet smell (coming from the alcohol circulating in your body) & discomfort and irritation from the people around you. LONG TERM: Liver cirrhosis (permanent liver damage), Cancer (carcinogenic), memory loss (when you get older), frequent nausea (due to internal diseases like liver cirrhosis) and lost of loved ones (continuous fighting and arguements). I can't really cite any good effects of drinking alcohol (if not in moderation). Hope this helps. God bless!

In the short term it'll stop you getting thirsty. In the long term it'll stop you dying of dehydration.

Maybe you should talk to Mel Gibson. Case in point.
