i'm taking a home study course and i wonder if it's waisting my time.

It really depends on what kind of job you are studying for and what kind of market is available for you to find a position in the field. If there are many people looking for such jobs, you may increase your potential with the course over someone with no training, but you will not be equivical to someone with previous experience and/or colledge education. Its a toss up, you should research more into the job market you are focusing on, maybe even call some employers and find out what they expect of you.

Yes, you're wasting your time. The world is far too competitive for you to be able to compete with applicants who have obtained education from an accredited college or university. Sorry.
