I'm 10 years old.I've been playing the piano about 2 years now,it's fun.But it is sometimes hard.I learned how to use the piano in school,in 2nd grade I did not do very good, but in 3rd grade I'm the only student that does very good in my room.I can play twinkle, twinkle, little star, star wars, and many more. Anyways, try practicing with both hands and you will do VERY good.Good Luck!

I play the piano, wasn't classically trained, learned by ear and sight, I can pretty much play any current songs played on the radio. I'm not a professional nor do I care if my hand positioning is incorrect since I was never taught in a piano school and I do have posted 80+ videos of covers and tutorials on YouTube.

If you are going to ask for a piano for Christmas, make sure the gift includes a gift certificate for piano lessons. You wanna play with both hands, right? So, you will need a piano teacher.
Good luck

i took lessons for a year when i was about 10 years old, then i joined my middle school band and played the bells. in 7th grade, i joined high school marching band, and have been doing it ever since. that was three years ago. this season will be my 4th straight year with my wonderful and amazing band. but it all started with piano. now i have looped back to playing piano!! when i joined jazz band this past year, i learned a lot about chords, and i played songs with chords on my left, and melody on my right. if you don't know how to read the bass line, let me give you some tips. lines are Good Boys Do Fine Always, spaces are All Cows Eat Grass. just take the first letter of each word and go up the lines/spaces. i hope my story helps you out and good luck playing!!!

I learned well enough to write music but I couldn't sit down and play a Rachmaninov piano concerto. It sure would be cool to though. I was lucky enough to be gifted with the guitar and can play just about anything I hear with the six string so I guess I shouldn't complain.
Some of my favorite piano pieces are the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto in D, Mozart's Piano Concerto #19, and everything Beethoven ever did with one. Good luck with it!

I play fairly well enough to find the right pitch to start singing on. I can sing sheet music better than I can play it. I took lessons playing piano when I was 8 or 9 but I had to quit.

I had nine years of lessons as a kid. I wish I had gotten a teacher who taught chords.
To this day I only read music. I can't just sit down and play (like my kids can). I need sheet music in front of me. And now, I'm so rusty, I sound terrible.
I should start all over with lessons again. Maybe some day.

I can't play by notes or sound out songs, but I like to scale up and down and as I play, I get more fluid and sometimes it sounds pretty good. I have small fits of something that songs like parts of a classical song. I enjoy it this much, but haven't learned the BASS line and other basics to play old standards or do chop stix. But its all about doing small easy songs and building. You can get the two hand thing down with basic chords and simple note songs to align each hand together and slowly build on that to were you can learn 20 songs and get your drinks for free. :)
