Jesus never had a houseplant, and when he moved around, he didn't even pack his coffee maker.

The answer to your question is definitely yes. The purpose of raising Lazarus was to convince people he is the messiah just before the Passover and be received in Jerusalem riding on a donkey which fulfilled an Old Testament prophesy.
I think this is a great question and this is why. Jesus, being God, showed how much he loved Lazarus by becoming visibly emotional. This demonstrates that God can emotionally be touched. All 5 of the emotions are neutral. There is nothing wrong with being angry. In fact, a person may be wrong not to have a righteous anger if a grave injustice has been committed. How you display anger is another thing.
What this also shows is how sensitive God is. God is very sensitive about sin. Take for example the Ten Commandments. Technically, bearing false witness against someone can be equated to murder in that any violation of the Ten Commandments warrants eternal damnation. We pervert our sense of right or wrong by rationalization and relativism.
So, the purpose of raising Lazarus was to get people to receive Jesus in Jerusalem as the Messiah and get a knee-jerk reaction from the Sanhedrin prompting them to have Jesus crucified. Jesus was a threat to their authority and power. I hope this answers your question.

Lazarus wasn't revived because Jesus knew him. Jesus brought him back because Lazarus' sisters told him what had happened and they had faith that Jesus was the son of God. They didn't know that Jesus would bring him back, but they knew that he would have never died had Jesus been there. And once Jesus said that Lazarus would come back, they had faith.

Remember....all of Jesus' "works" or miracles were for the glory and praise of God the Father. All of His miracles, his actions, what He spoke......were pre-destined events or occurances that were planned to happen at specific times. Jesus did not pick and choose these events......GOD the Father did.

What a good question!
I wonder if any healing or resurrecting is possible outside of love?

I would think that if you really know God, detachment is a pre-requisite to healing due to belief in Universal Law...
