I noticed that every state has a different major supermarkets. When I grew up in NJ, we had PathMark, Grand Union, FoodTown, ShopRite, A&P, and Kings. When I lived in Massachusetts, there was Stop and Shop and Shaw's. When I lived in VA, there was FoodLion, Ukrop's, Harris Teeter, and Kroger. When I lived in Marylnd, there was Shopper's Food Warehouse, Giant, and Safeway. Geez, 4 states and not one grocer in common.

I'm a military brat so I've seen a LOT of grocery strores...I remember "the commisary" from living on post, Piggly Wiggly in GA and AL, Ukrops in VA, Kroger, Winn-Dixie and Food City in TN, and now in IN, I frequent Strack and Van Til, Key Market, Town and Country, and Wiseway. My fave tho, and the one who's prices I miss the most, is Food City.

I live in Georgia, and we have Kroger, Publix and Ingles, although I've never been to Ingles...it's supposed to be sort of dumpy. I think there are some Winn Dixies and Piggly Wigglys around here, but I've never seen them...just heard of them. Before I moved here, I lived in Michigan and we had Farmer Jack and Kroger. I was born and raised in Virginia, so I've been to Food Lion, Safeway and Ukrops (I LOVE Ukrops!) many times.

I stay in a small united states of america city and we only have a food market referred to as Foodland, no self reliant food market regrettably.. yet as quickly as a month we've a close by industry and a fruit & veg truck includes that which has regionally grown produce on the industry.. beats the hell outta the crap from the food market.. )o()
