What more than those gears do you need? Yea, much easier for you to just find one guarrenteed to work for a couple of hundred. Thats the most common problem with those Taurus's. Trannys. Besides all the leaks there are more problems, maybe clutches and stuff like that, I would just do the swap. You would have to pull it anyway. Much easier.

i do not imagine it truly is too a lot. what style of Taurus? GL? LX? SHO? Does it have the automatic climate administration? Does the HVAC gadget blow any air in any respect? if so, does the air pop out of the defroster vents in easy words? Please provide better assistance. I currentlychronic an '89 Taurus LX wagon, and it has over 200k miles on it. they could very last, yet you need to carry out recurring upkeep: replace the transmission fluid and clear out each 30k miles - i imagine an outstanding style of human beings ignore to do this. The alternator may want to get replaced in about 40k miles from now. there are assorted quirky issues which could happen from sources you does no longer anticipate. make certain the EGR valve isn't clogged and dealing surprising, and visually look in any respect vacuum lines.

There is no way you can rebuild your transmission, At least not a fix that will last. I have a 92 with185k on the clock and i have rebuilt it twice so far. I have a friend who owns a transmission shop and i get a good guy deal every time it goes out. But get a referral on a good shop but expect to get 80 to 100k on a rebuilt.

taurus -notorious for tranny problems -best bet have it rebuilt buy a local tranny shop with a good reputation -not everyone can build a trans its like you can or you cant and most cant that say than can ---ask for references etc trans is expensive work so make sure you have a reputable shop and a good warranty
