Basicaly they are doing what they belive is right and what their belife system instructs them to do. But, just like a telemarketer calling at dinner time can at times be annoying, a polite "no thank-you" should be enough. Without getting into all the opinions, on who is right or wrong, it is important to understand that they are people to. Where I live it's the Mormons. We have had some very interesting conversations when I try to get to know them, if you would like to venture there. Nothing is wrong with trying to understand what a person thinks or beliefs and why. Even if you don't agree at least you learned something about them.

Hope this helps!

Jehovah's Witnesses are REQUIRED by their belief system to go out and convert people. They will reach salvation and eternal reward by their works. No Works at converting people...No salvation.

Keep in mind too...they ARE NOT Christians. They Do Not believe in the Holy Trinity...Jesus Christ was not Divine but a created being who actually morphed into Jesus from the Archangel Michael.

They are no more active than other Christian religions I have encountered. They make a door to door search, take "No" for an answer very graciously, I see no problem here. People here are trying to push their beliefs on everyone, saying this person is a sinner, that person is a sinner....hell, if I counted up all the sinners I see just here, no one is going to heaven. Chill out, they are just doing what they have been taught to do, and they do it very humbly. Good luck

Well, for one, In the JW circles wittnessing is winning them ranks in the cult. So if you buy into it, they get a better seat in the Kingdom... that's all.. .in a nutshell of course. There's more. I had a neighbour as a JW... Yikes! Actually I have spoken for at least 7 hours with two of them. I never saw anyone in their rank give up... but they did. I was beyond any hope.. :)

Stay away from them. My grandmother's sister converted to JW, and it divided the family. The first thing was that they wouldn't associate with us because we celebrate Christmas. After that, it was constant preaching and dropping around UNINVITED, to convert us. We now have nothing to do with any of them.

Really. Stay away from them !! Do not answer your door if they come around! And do not get into any discussions with them. They WANT arguments so they can try to prove their stuff, but all they are doing is BRAINWASHING.

They say it's because they have a short time to try to spread the word of God. They just want to bring as many children back to the Lord as they can. That's all there is to that.

I have seen them where I live too and my mom used to take her bible and sit down with them and argue about the differences between christianity and jehovah's witness. They aren't so bad around here anymore but I think my family has scared them all away by now!!! LOL!!

To the guy that answered above me PEOPLE HAVE THEIR OWN RELIGIONS AND THEY DON'T WANT OTHERS TO PUSH THEIRS ONTO US!! I HAVE MY OWN BELIEFS!!!! AND PUSHING MY RELIGION ONTO OTHERS IS NOT ONE OF MY BELEIFS!!!

They do that where i'm from also. Banging on your door. When you answer it, they give you a paper and tell you they will be back later to discuss it with you. I don't want to discuss anything. They should have a "Do Not Knock" registry just like the "Do Not Call"

Wouldn't you follow God's commands if they were made clear to you?
Jesus told us what was to be done. He said his words were those of God. Do we doubt him?
Talking with Peter, he asked him 3 times if Peter loved him, and each time when Peter said yes Lord, Jesus responded with "Feed my sheep". How? Spiritually! How? Go and make disciples! How? Find people to teach!
Congratulations to the Witnesses in your area, they are doing their job Jesus gave them!

You haven't? How about a country that would let a dimwit who witters on about being "born-agin" be President? You don't think that's a little pushy?
