I'm glad you brought that up...
You see, Christians try so hard to tear down science at any given moment, they fail to realize that without science we wouldn't have cars, air conditioning, computers, the Internet, airplanes, electricity, telephones... all the great technology we take for granted.
Jesus, has nothing to do with anything. He's long gone, move on.

Yes, the world being the way it is today was part of God's plan. A lot of people think Christianity and Science can't go together at all, but they can. There are a lot of Christian scientists. In fact, science goes with Christianity pretty well, if you were to look at the evidence with a neutral mind.
I can't be too judging of those who think that, because I thought the same thing myself, for a LONG time... but it's fine for Christianity and science to be together.
The main part of Jesus dying on the cross was to forgive everyone's sins, all those who believe in Jesus and God. I don't know if that event necessarily has anything to do with the world turning out to the way it is today, but the world today is part of God's plan. So enjoy!

No, jesus has nothing to do with todays technologies, except in the fact that it was christianity that suppressed all forms of scientific discovery and progress for the majority of western civilizations development.
If it is part of the plan, then god must prefer the needless death caused by disease, malnutrition, and poor sanitation and housing that were so prevalent during the middle ages and much of the last 2000 years.
It wasn't until western civilization abandoned the theocratic rule of the chruch that science and medicine began to flourish.

First of all, he didn't die on the cross. They tried and tried to kill him and couldn't succeed, because he was being "resurrected" at the same time. The soldiers finally gave up and tried to get rid of him by trapping him in a cave.
The purpose of that was to prove to us that what he told us is true, physical death and spiritual death are 2 different things. Remember the concept "don't fear the one who has the power to kill your body, fear the one who has the power to destroy your soul", and discussions about the second death?
Anyway, he was continuously resurrected in front of everyone, until the point was made and God decided to end the suffering by allowing him to appear dead. That's when they moved him. The way this was done is by going back and forward in time, which God routinely does for the physical universes. It is obvious to any thinking person that our technologies have gotten us into some pretty deep trouble, and I don't think this was necessarily part of God's plan for us, but it is certainly a consequence of our collective choices. God can and has "rewound" this universe more than once. If He chooses, He'll do it again. By universe, I mean material time/space continuum, of which there are an infinite number. It might interest you to know that we are existing simultaneously in more than one of them. God is bigger than you might believe, He has room enough for all of us and more. We are just progressing at different rates individually. Jesus is most advanced, and was here to show us the Truth about who we are and who made us. He did that when he allowed himself to be butchered in public, only to walk and talk again a few days later. That is something that is very difficult to witness for spiritually undeveloped people, it scared the hell out of them, and instead of wanting to know more, they just wanted him to go away. It is not easy for God to live among us as a human without scaring everyone to a point of animal violence.
And that is clearly not God's intent, or he would visit more often.
I love your question, thank you.

No, the world today is a product of the sin of disobedience from Adam and Eve. Jesus came and saved us from the eternal death caused by that sin - Hell. His salvation covers every century and every time, no matter how good or bad our technology is. Technology does not save you, only Jesus does.

JESUS died on the cross so we,(sinners) who believe in him will have a chance to go to heaven. it has nothing to do with technology. and to correct the remark made by the other answer given. JESUS IS VERY MUCH ALIVE IN HEAVEN waiting HIS RETURN TO EARTH to gather HIS PEOPLE and take them into HEAVEN. you too can be one of them, you first must acknowledge that JESUS is real and to say the lords prayer. look it up in the HOLY BIBLE .

His death paid for our sins and restored our access to the Father, through His son Jesus Christ.
That's the plan.
Everything else is fluff.
