how do black people get away with having their own tv station and magazine, but if whites were to do that it would be considered racist.
not only white but any other races.
am i the only one that sees a problem with this?

whites also have their own stations too...but we dont call it, WET, or anything like that, and you can usually see a black person on there at least a couple times.

wow neither of those first to answers do anything to actually touch upon your question, they just blather on about you trying to stir up trouble, and say if you want to that's OK..or asure you thay you're not racist.. Let me be the first then, I've thought about this before, my friend brought it up when BET was on in the dining hall at our school. I do think it isn't fair, yes, they're a minority and don't get represented as much in TV shows and such but the fact remains that yeah, I think if whites (or, as you said) any other race, made their own network then it would be a big isssue.

LOOK IM BLACK I AGREE BUT U HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THIS TO HELP CATER TO THE BLACK PEOPLE POINT OF VIEW ALMOST ALL TV NETWORKS R OWNED BY WHITE OR SOME OTHER RACE THAN BLACK. HISPANICS HAVE THEIR OWN NETWORKS TO. WHITE PEOPLE FOR THE MOST PART DONT NEED AN ALL WHITE STATION MOST STATION R IF NOT ALMOST COMPLETLEY WHITE. EXAMPLE:

Oh, how sad, blacks have one channel and you feel like they have everything. Also, Mexicans have their own channel or two also. You probaly think they are taking over too. Now let's see how many channel whites have? Take away the two channels the blacks and mexicans have, and now every other single channel is run by whites and when they do show a black person or a person of hispanic descent, it is always the one token black or hispanic person(and most of the time this person is loud or obnoxious). BTW, BET has white folks on it: Haven't you ever heard of Eminem and Paul Wall?

It`s not racist at all.White people in america have always had their own TV stations ,Radio stations ,magazines and newspapers.It`s only relatively recent that black people got a look in with them.
At one point the ONLY magazine featuring a black person was National Geographic and that was so little whitie (I`m caucasian myself) could see breasts.

When all people are created equal it will be racist. Right now it is just people trying to create their own niche so they have a place where they are comfortable. There are gay bars. Do you think you would like to call thebar you go into a 'straight bar'? People need a place where they feel comfortable to be who they are without worrying about discrimination.
Yeah there is a bit of an issue there. But life isn't fair. When it is, then start a petition.

i understand totally. just because at one point in history, things like white people and black people having different water fountains was totally racist so now they think that just because a long time ago, white people were racist towards them, that they can act like the white people today are too (which dont get me wrong but most white people are NOT racist). and they think that just because they are black, they have the right to treat us like white people are still racist, which is wrong. im white so correct me if im wrong, but thats just how i see it. so to answer your questiong, yes i do think this is a problem and in years to come, i think this problem will only worsen.

don't know how they get away with it. i'm not a racist, i do realize most stations are run by white people but lets see what happens when they call it "wet" white entertainment television.

well, look at it this way, whites have A LOT of tv channels & magazines. they're the ones who produce & edit practically everything.
and to everyone who is saying Mexicans have their own channels, heellllloooo it's not just for them. I'm Cuban & some of my friends are Argentinian, Nicarauguan, Puerto Rican, Ecuadorian, & Guatamalan & we ALLLLLLL watch the novelas on those channels! it's not JUST for Mexicans!

i am white, and if you really think about it,there are white TV stations on just about every channel, and even though i don't agree with it there is also a Mexican channel. if it bothers people that much then get rid of cable television.

yea ... stop trying to stir things up..OK.. If you start a magazine--it is your choice what goes in there and what you talk about.. whats the problem with that? alot of people do that all the time
