I am trying to go the all natural way to lose weight. I am not talking about going totally fresh all the way, but trying to make a start in the right direction. I have bought whole grain bread, fruits, and the such. I wanted to look at organic food, but Wal-Mart doesn't have a large selection. Is the organic food the same as the fruit stand food along the highway? Also, what does organic really mean? What are some good veggies to eat? I love fruits, but don't know much about veggies. Any suggestions about fresh, organic, natural, and the like are greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Actually, I just saw a commercial about how Wal-Mart is now carrying a new line of organic foods. The foods you see at roadside stands aren't necessarily organic either. I believe organic means that the food isn't treated with pesticides and other chemicals. Check out the Whole Foods supermarket website and see if there's one located near you. They're expensive but really amazing, and will maybe give you some new interesting healthy food ideas.

I think organic is worth the extra money. It is important to eat plenty of veggies....and if your trying to lose weight try to cut out what is referred to as "bad carbs" meaning all the whites....white sugar white flour white potatoes etc. Eat high protein...meat eggs and a little cheese. If you need to eat cereal plain oatmeal with fresh fruit like mashed up banana to sweeten it is a good choice. Walk briskly everyday and deep breathe all that wonderful fresh air. You'll notice the weight melting off in no time.Good luck!!

Organic just means it is grown without peticides and they use all natural fertilizers like horse manure instead of chemicals.
I would worry more about eating fruits and vegetables than eating organic.

Go to another grocery store. Wal-mart doesn't carry organic because it can't buy organic in the bulk required for the price it wants.

"Organic" doesn't really mean anything. If your goal is to lose weight, then just eat as much veggies and fruit as you want, limit you meat intake to one modest portion a day, and get more exercise.

It's hard work, but it's worth it.

Good luck!
