He probably does it to get your attention and have you get the toys for him...dogs are very smart and I'm sure he knows if he puts his toys where he can't reach them that you will get them for..thus forcing you to play with him....

He does it to get your attention! Put a board under the couch, so the toy can't go under - a JR will NEVER shut up or quit digging until you get the toy for him!!

LOL, I wouldn't say dominating, but he's definately enjoying this fun game he cooked up.
My suggestion, don't play. If he puts it under there, leave it until he forgets about it - then when he isn't looking - get it out for him. Eventually, he should stop.

why do babies drop their toys out of their playpens? they think it is fun when we throw them back in. the dog is trying to get you to play with him. throw one of his toys. he will probably bring it back, or closer to you,so you will throw it again.
