I am so sorry to hear about your cousins eating disorder. Were people picking on him when he weighed close to 200 pounds. Is he having a problem with depression? Is that why your Uncle took him to the Psychologist? (that is a difficult word to spell) Has your Uncle taken him to a medical doctor as well to make general heath assessments on his condition. If he has developed an eating disorder, he needs to be getting help from a medical professional who specializes in these types of disorders. Have you talked to your parents and siblings and you Uncle about what is going on? Have you talked to your cousin and expressed what you have expressed here, if not you need to do so. Sometimes when people go through these types of disorders, they feel very alone and he needs to know he is not alone, and people still love him and care about him no matter what. Best of luck to you and your cousin. May God Bless you all.

When my BMI was that low I was hospitalized. Maybe that's what needs to be done. It's not a cure, but it will get his weight up and will give him longer to live in order to deal with the real causes of his not wanting to eat.

He has to want to help himself. Going to the psychologist once won't cure him; he needs to talk to someone several times or many times to be convinced. An intervention may be necessary. Have his dad or mom talk to his doctor and ask for help. Good luck!

Did it not help going to the psychologist? Get serious help immediately! (caring doctor)

if his not eating becomes a danger to his health, he may have to be hospitalized and force fed through tubes
