It is spelled Phernergan, and it is commonly prescribed along with heavy pain killers to combat nausea. Also, a friend of mine had a prescription for it when she had extreme morning sickness during her first pregnancy. If you ever take it, make sure you are sitting on the bed when you swallow the pill because it will knock you out almost immediately. My theory is that it doesn't really do anything about the nausea other than to knock you out so you don't realize that you're queasy.

Pronounced: FEN-er-gan

Phenergan is an antihistamine that relieves nasal stuffiness and inflammation and red, inflamed eyes caused by hay fever and other allergies. It is also used to treat itching, swelling, and redness from hives and other rashes; allergic reactions to blood transfusions; and, with other medications, anaphylactic shock (severe allergic reaction).

Phenergan is also used as a sedative and sleep aid for both children and adults, and is prescribed to prevent and control nausea and vomiting before and after surgery and to prevent and treat motion sickness. It is also used, with other medications, for pain after surgery.

Phenergen is a very strong pill or suppository used to calm violent regurgitations. Although a tad unorthodox, it works. And if you're throwing up badly enough, you'll be willing to do anything to make it stop.

It is Phenergan and it is to stop nausea. My friend's mother had to take it because she is allergic to most anesthesia and she was having surgery.
