Mostly window dressing.
They're both based on the same 12 steps with little word changes. AA is more established and dogmatic, with a slightly better success rate: 5%.
Yep, 5%.

They are very similar with a few exceptions. Both are 12 step based programs that are designed to help people that want to kick the habit. Both recognize that addiction and alcoholism are diseases that can not be cured, but can be arrested at some point and then ... recovery is possible. Important aspect is that recovery is a day by day process and involves a spiritual awakening- in order to achieve the desired results. There is no cure, just a daily reprieve. ... One day at a time.
AA has been around much longer than NA, and there are a few slight differences. A substance abuser may feel more comfortable in a NA group where an Alcoholic may feel more at home with others of the same pre-disposition.
If you think that you qualify, give one or both a good looking over. The plan works and you don't have to join or become a member.

The structure is the same. Both follow the 12 steps.
But NA is for drugs and AA is for alcohol. I have known alcoholics who were unable to find an AA meeting at a convenient time and attended NA meetings instead.

Well I hope we both are well tonight the programs are both self help based on Alcoholics Anonymous teaching. AA used a Triangle in a circle and NA uses a Square in a circle. First and formost stop using! attend meetings! Thank - You and Thank Your Higher Power

people in NA are people who primarily use drugs and stuff like heroin.
Alcoholics mostly drink though some use drugs too, but most consider alcohol their primary problem.
