Ok, I'll tell you why we argue. Its the chance that we may get to someone. Just one, whom may make a difference. Now, if god is immortal than it would have been around before the Earth. Since time is, in reality, never ending (ie the universe is destroyed but there is still time to look out into the darkness) so therefore god would have to have spent eternity in the past before the creation of the universe doing absolutely nothing. Of course, it may have had other universes but then that would make us a little less special.

Yes, I see these answers all the time. Along with the Bible being a myth filled with fairytales.
Just because something defies logic, doesn't mean it is not true. Just a few years ago, it would not have been logical to think that mobile phones would be such a possibility. Now everyone has them and many more things are in existence than ever thought possible before.
I think the Atheists that claim "God isn't real" believe science and logic so much, that it effects the open mindedness that it takes to at least see the possibility for a creator.
It is not proven or something hasn't happened, therefore it can't happen.
I'm not trying to generalize all atheists or any group, but the ones who answer God is a myth, have never considered the possibility otherwise.
I have considered both possibilities and have come to the conclusion that there is a creator.

Atheists are the voice of reason, but we can't answer every question with a 3-page essay on why god doesn't exist or Adam and Eve is a silly old myth. Nevertheless, people need to hear the atheist viewpoint, and they need to know that it's OK not to believe. So, even a "God isn't real" answer is worthwhile.

Statements like that would easily offend someone with a closed mind. While it would be stimulating for opened minded person. It is a dare to "think outside the box". After all, a Christian has freewill to choose and there is the chance to exercise it.
You said it yourself. You know Atheists aren't all stupid. So may be -- just may be -- they have a point, or there is even a remote possibility that they are right.
Peace to you.

Well, alot of Christians who anwer my questions say "Read the Bible, you'll unserstand" or "One day you will find the truth" or something along those lines. Is that answer going to make me think "Wow, I never thought of that!!" Atheists aren't the only ones that give pointless answers. Both sides need to come up with a better answer if they wish to discuss, agree?

Actually, most of the athiests I have ever known do think, they have just never had anything happen to them to makes them believe in God.
I feel lucky that I have had something happen to me that made me believe.
Actually to me the people who are not thinking are the ones who say , the bible is the word of God. I know the bible is the word of God because the bible says that it is the word of God.
A Circular argument that defys logic is not faith, its nonsense.

I do it when the alternative would be writing a book... its the simplest answer in most cases, and if some people see it repeated enough it may just sink in that there is some truth to it after all.

What makes you think that the intention is to convert you?
That's pretty arrogant of you.
Did YOU ever THINK that perhaps it's just meant as a reminder that not everyone is a brainless sheep who goes along with the majority religion?

I think it depends on the question. Don't you think? I never answer with anything anti religious if it is an honest question.
Some, OK, many questions are just asked to irritate others.
