Keep it Platonic. 18 years old and up = adult, 17 years old and under = minor child. It is illegal to date and immoral. People will think it's weird, sorry.

Well. . .technically any sexual contact with him until he is 18 is illegal. Realistically. . . well. . . I don't see a three year difference as being a big deal. It's a law, at least morally with a large gray area. If a girl is 18 years and one day old she legally can't have sex with a boy that is 17 years and 364 days old. Does that really make sense? If there are feelings there that are more than sex. . . then morally it is not wrong. However. . . . the boys parents may or may not be keen on the idea of their 16 year old dating a 19 year old. Also. . . you may be going to drinking establishments in a few years and he will have to wait. There are many inconveniences with the age difference but once he is 21 they are pretty much all gone. Love is love and it knows no boundaries. I say go for it. . . . just how you go for it is the question. Do you or don't you ask for his parents blessing? And. . . for that matter. . . how will your parents feel? Also. . you have to be careful. . . especially if you start having sex. . . to make sure this young man takes care of business with things such as school. I dated older girls at his age and had to really make sure I concentrated on other things and not just sex sex sex. Believe me. . . . a 16 year old boy. . . can think it is the only thing that matters in the world! If you can get this young man to act like an adult. . . take care of business. . . and generally become a better person with you than without you. . . well. . . .that should silence all the critics. Good Luck. . . . .and do your part everyday to help rid the world of scumbuckets like 50 cent and Eminem.

Yes it's odd. The reason its odd is because most 19 year olds are at a different point in their life, and can't find as many points of interest to share with the younger person. Just remember that while you like him, there will be many moments where you likely wont want to spend time together. He may want you to come to all of his sporting events at school... for the next 2 years. Perhaps he wants you to come to his senior prom? Have you thought about how you would feel about that 2 years from now? if you haven't thought about these things... you should start now. Otherwise, you are only thinking of short term perks and you aren't looking at the bigger picture. If you have a relationship with him, and engage in sexual activities, it is illegal in most states. Most 16 year olds are more concerned with getting sexual favors than they are about having a relationship... at least a meaningful one. Just remember this... you are bound to be the more mature one, and you are taking on a younger boy... one that is far less experienced, and less mature. Good luck.

Well, first of all. The age difference is illegal. And trust me, you dont want to mess with that. 5- 10 years in prison is not worth any guy. But if really must be with him. Keep it as quiet as possible. Not even his or your family should know until he is at least 17. Its one thing to have a friend thats 16 when your 19. But its a hole nother ball game when he or she is more then friends.

It's not weird. I was infatuated (is that even a word nowadays -prob. not) with identical twin childhood friends. They were about the same age difference as you are with yours. It's best to keep as friends because he will be the one that you may need to confide with later. You are growing more maturely in more ways than your parents care to think. A friend is a friend. Don't ruin that. As you mature more, you will appreciate him being there as a friend. Maybe, in the future, you can become more than friends, but take it one step at a time. Definitely don't ruin a good thing.

It's fine, in fact since women live longer maybe you won't have to live too much longer than him. lol
to be serious, it's fine, just wait till he's 18 before you even kiss him or you could be doing time soon. Even if you think you can keep it a secret or you think no one will turn you in, you don't want to take that chance. You never know when someone will find out, or someone you thought was ok to know turns you in. I hope you the best, my wife was my best friend, but we are the same age.

i think its normal, i mean...you 2 have created a bond over time....age just became a number , not something that mattered...of course if he was 14 and your 19...thats taboo and if you were having sex..illegal. But i think if you let him mature more and keep on building the relationship..and once he is ending puberty and more of a young man (17 18ish) id say go for dating him. you dont want to start a relationship be4 he even knows who he is. your a woman, hes a boy no matter how mature he seems. give it lots of time

At 19, 16 can get you into serious trouble. Haven't you been keeping up with the news lately? Hands off until he turns 18, then jump on him.

Um, I want to tell you this first that my mom is older than my dad but not by a year or something... Anyways, does he like you? If he does I would ask to go in a room, and tell him, "(Name) I don't know why I love being around you but I do. I hope this doesn't ruin my friendship with you, anyways, do you like me?"
If that works Have fun!
Good luck! :P

No, not really. My best friend is 16 and she's dating a 13 year old. All that matters is your feelings towards him.
