yes it is to get over this fear of this phobia i would suggest going to counceling and the next time you go to the lake take baby steps............just sit on the sand and look at the water feel the sand in your hands it feels pretty good cool or warm depending on the time of day, now move closer to the water try to see if you can see the bottom if you can just look at whats there you will see somethng familiar the sand its the same sand you felt a moment ago, now stand up just stare out into the horizon smell the water feel the wind blow on your face, now go into the water but just stand in it get used to it, now feel the water with your hands and touch the bottom of it take your fingers and go thru the sand like you did on the shore, dont be afraid nothing will hurt you now sit in the water and take your arms and let them float for awhile then touch the bottom again remember that same feeling you felt on the beach when your fingers went thru the sand its the same sand in the water as on the shore it washes into the water all the time. i really hope this helps your fear of the bottom of the beach......good luck to you

Lakes are creepy, especially ones you cant see the bottom of. I dont blame you for freaking out, but I'm not sure if there is an actual name to your phobia. Stick to the swimming pools.

It is not a phobia. You are just a big baby. I swim in lakes all the time, it is my most favorite thing in the world. What is there to freak out about. Do you usually need a lot of attention?

I didn't find that exact phobia- I'm sure it has a name... Its more common than you know. Who wouldn't be scared of a slimy, muddy, creepy lake bottom?

Check out http://www.Phobias.com There may be the name that you're looking for.
