For example lie to protect someone

Sin is a deliberate thought, word, deed, or omission contrary to the eternal law of God.
I am sure there are a few scenarios when it is necessary to lie to keep the eternal law of God.
One example: In WWII, people hid Jews from the Nazis and lied to Nazi authorities about it.

the bible doesnt really teaches not to just lie. It says dont bare false witness against your neighbour. All lying that is called bad is in that light. Like they did with Jesus before the jewsh council. Bearing false witness has to do with wanting to do evil.
Are there good lies though? Well, would you tell a kid that is mortally sick that and has no understanding of good and evil yet, that he is going to die and might see his parents anymore?
I would tell him his parents are going to be there again tomorrow. Even if I know he could die that night.
In the second world war a lot of ppl lied about conceiling jews families from extermination from the nazies. Should I tell the truth to the nazies if they asked? Telling htem that im helping jews survive there madness by hiding them from them? Would that not be a greater evil?
I think there are causes that lying is justified. But again, it all depends on what you consider a good purpose i guess. Or rather, what we think whats morally right to do in a situation based on the bible. We really need the Holy Spirit to lead us in that.

To lie to protect yes you can and it is not a sin!

You mean like if you walk in on a guy and a donkey in a very intimate and special embrace and you quickly walk out and shut the door. Then at that moment someone walks up and says "What's going on in there?"
To which you reply, by lying "Oh, nothing. Someone having a personal problem."
Like that?

as long as its to help someone i think its ok but if to better yourdelf absolutely not
