I thought it was social anxiety. I've hated being around people all my life but I wish I had someone here with me to cuddle up to lol.

I've asked for help but I'm just not getting it. The only friends I have are on the internet but live in the USA. I planned to meet up with them but I don't think I could go through with it. I kind of feel trapped. I don't know how I got like this. I left school when I was 13 and now I'm 16. I keep worrying about the future.. how am I ever going to get a job? or a bf ? :(

My mum already knows I have problems but didn't do anything about it. She's the only person I talk to in real life. It would help if I could email a doctor but I don't know any

Hi
First, thanks for everyone who answered. It's great that you took the time to answer me.

Just to let you know, I was supposed to have an education at home. I had someone check up on me once every year to see if I was doing any work. I didn't actually do any work, my mum printed off loads of stuff from the internet and pretended that I did it myself. I think it's really bad that they only send people to check up on kids learning from home once a year. I feel like I have missed out on a lot of things in life.

I will be looking for a site where I can find an email address to contact someone local. I haven't found a good website yet, maybe someone can help me find the link to a doctor in Southampton, hampshire?

Thanks so much! I have lost a lot of internet friends because of this. I asked for help, but they couldn't help me and got fed up with me then walked away.

Also, good luck to the others here who are going through the same thing!

Very hard for people to understand why someone cannot go out of the house. Have you anyone there who could take you to the doctors so you can be assessed and find out was the root cause of your problem is.

You really need help and support through this, and no you are not crazy... just feeling alone and scared I guess.

Laying in my bed last night I worried about you and came back to look at your posting and I see that you are only sixteen and you left school at thirteen, this is illegal and your Mum must know this and should be going to see someone from your school to find out why you left. I think that bullying may be the root of your problem? If it is tell someone please, before it gets out of hand.

You need to complete your education as it is the most important thing at your age, the whole of your future depends on it, but you need help so that your can confront your demons first of all. I am sure that everyone here wishes they could take hold of you and give you lots of cuddles and hugs.

I hope you find the right help and support you need. A long lecture is not what you require just now so I will sign off...God Bless!

Hi there no I was not being nasty, I am sorry I put the gotcha on the wrong question I was having a joke with someone. Not meant for you at all. Please accept my apologies.

Not yet, but if you see a quack real soon, he will be able to finally put your complex down to a few simple nerves that need attention :-)....... until then, use a brown paper bag to hyper-ventilate your system for the palpitation's and sweats, as most phobias tend to make you breath shorter and faster, thus making you even weaker and prone to blackouts and/or fainting. If it's no where this bad for your phobia, then you are just going stir crazy and have life far too easy for your kind of condition. Unless you are disabled, i really think this is a must and should try and go out with the brown paper bag, and see if it works or not. :-)........
Oh yeah the instructions for hyper ventilating are as follows:-
crunch the top of the bag between finger and thumb until tips touch or nearly touch, put your lips into the void created between thumb and finger and fill the bag with air. holding the bottom of the bag so it doesn't pop! Then breath in. Do this not fast, nice and regular, but do fill the bag. use an average sized brown paper bag. NOT PLASTIC. Otherwise Meet a Doctor, ask a doctor on line, or ring NHS direct, (UK), or ask if you can use someone else's doctor... Then he can start to unravel the state your nerves are in. Hope this helps.

no you are not crazy. You are not crazy because people who are "crazy" dont think they have a problem.
You sound like you are suffering from depression or some kind of phobia or both. You have taken the first step to helping yourself though, to come on yahoo answers and ask peple for help. However small a step it may seem, its actually a huge step, as its the first.

Youd o need help because you will just get worse if yu carry on the way you are. It takes a lot of bravery and courage to help yourself sometimes. I know that picking up the phone can be hugely overwhelming. Perhaps get your mum to do it for you.

I suffer from depression. I totally closed downa dn didnt want 2 c anyone for ages when I was at my worst. I gave up life. I am so much happier now. I am on meds but its okay. I can control my condition and so can you!

You WILL get better. you will. be brave, take it one small step at a time. n you will b happy

good luck!:)
marz xx
ps mail me if u want

No you are not crazy at all, what has happened to you to make you feel this way, make an appointment for a doctor to come to the house and speak to him/her about this, if you can't pick a phone up to make the appointment then do it by email and give a short run down of your symptoms and the effect it is having on you and the sooner you get this sorted the quicker you can get your life back again, don't carry on with this situation any longer, good luck I hope everything works out for you soon.

No - you are agraphobic (don't know how to spell it) - it's a severe form of anxiety.

It's quite common - so you should be able to get some help from your GP. He'll come to you if you can't face leaving the house just yet.

What brought this on - did you have a panic attack while you were out, or something? Or undergo some kind of crisis?

But, just to reassure you again - you are not mad. Just very unhappy.

UPDATE: We can't know if you have agoraphobia or not, but it's usually the reason people won't leave the house for months on end. Why do you think this is happening to you?

Ur not crazy at all. Ignore the pple who have said you are. There just being insensitive!

Everyonre goees through struggles of all kinds in life and some worse than others but the only way you can get through it is to face the problems that are stopping you doing simple everyday tasks and get help with them before you become anymore isolated than you are.

There has got to be someone you can talk to, someone you could even just speak to to get you an appointment at the doctors or something.

Things like this usually have underlining causes, they dont just appear for no reason.

Hope you can get help with it all.

Don't say that about yourself, you have a condition called agrophobia, something's triggered it off, maybe something from your past, you need to sort something out now don't let this drag you down. The more you stay in the house the more you will get worse and worse, you need to find a councellor one who does home vistits, and find out the root of the problem. Once that is established. You work with your councellor and slowly but surely your problem will become smaller and smaller. Life is to short for you to be hiding away from life. You are too important for that you take care now and keep us updated.

I would suggest that you get counseling of some kind...that is unless you want to be in your house for the next twenty February's.
