Regular white rice takes 20 min. to steam. If you do find that it's still crunchy, just put it back on the heat a few more minutes.

Oh, and that's 20 minutes WITHOUT peeking or lifting the lid! Resist the urge to peek or stir during the 20 min... it's not necessary and lets valuable steam (which cooks your rice) out of hte pot!

If the rice is crunchy and dry, add a bit more hot water and let it steam w/ lid on. Make sure lid fits tightly.

For every cop of rice your going to add an extra cup of water (Ex. 3 cups of rice + 4 cups of water). Boil water, 1/4 cup of oil and salt to taste. Lower the heat to medium add the rice and move it. Cover the pot for 20 minutes (no peeking). After the 20 minutes, turned off, moved the rice around and let it sit for 5 minutes. Serve and enjoy!

Put some more water in the pot and cook a little longer. If you hae crunchy rice, either you didn't start out with enough water or you didn't turn the heat down after the water came to a boil. If you didn't turm the heat down you probably can't fix it.

Add a little water to the rice in a microwave safe dish and microwave for a few minutes at a time until it is cooked to the desired softness. You may have to give it a quick stir inbetween bouts of cooking.

You are not gong to want to hear this, but you need to buy a pressure cooker. That is the only way to cook rice, it keep the moisture in the grains and makes them nice and sticky.
