Depends on if she is a Permenant resident alien or on a visa and how long she is going home for. Really go info on the INS (now homeland security) web site. Check out this site

You need to double check, but I believe she can.....Please make sure to contact INS to see if she can leave the country, otherwise, if she leaves she may not be allowed to come back in for 10 years....If she must leave for an emergency, she will have to get special permission to leave the country from INS....Hope this helps..

Illegally or legally? Or did she come legally but on a 6 month visa and overstay?
