I think it is something to do with the fact that the eye is a very sensitive organ and that the extra blood pressure that is placed upon it by obesity does it damage

Obesity causes lots of health problems because if you are unhealthily obese, the blood in your body not to get to the extremities - eyes (glaucoma), legs (vericose veins), arms, you are more likely to get diabetes and heart disease too.

You can be healthy and still be obese...
