I have read many answers on todays questions regarding many different aspects of religion, christianity, muslim, atheism..etc, and my mind is still made up.....you are all crazy...you belive in a image or belife wholehartedly without giving thought for the millions of others who disagree with you.
Most religious texts were written by people thousands of years ago who thought the earth was flat, that stoneing was a good idea, and that some being, who was invisible wanted it all to be a certain way, eons before proper, enightened civilisation occured.
I pity anyone who can muster hatred or anger at anyone else's beliefs, its all a big yawn, religion is the opiate of the masses and when you finally pass away and your body becomes one with mother nature ,your belief, your ideals your predujices, hope and desires will fade into the earth that made you.....jew, catholic, prodestant, muslim, hindu, buddist, paganist, christian...you are all just humans that believe different stories. :)

I do love my family, I love my sons and I love this earth that i walk upon, i cry inside when i hear about war and bigotry and people who kill one another.
I don't tolorate racism, sexism or people who are differntly abled. I don't drink in public, smoke or do drugs.
I am polite, i have a good job, i respect my elders and my parents, I open doors for people and I make sure my kids behave in public....i am just not religious....why am i so hated?

Well not all religious people hate other religions, there are some ( lots actually) who really follow their faith based on love and tolerance
But You're right, by now, people should be able to see through religion, and that doesn't mean that you believing in yours, just, means that you have to evolve, grow, that you recognise that there's other people with different views and we all believe basically the same and finally that when a text or a story written so long ago has passed through so many different hands, different generations, translations, the meanings of those texts change too much and parts of them are not actually relevant or true anymore.
It's still believing, still having faith but in a different way, more open and real

Hatred stems from the fact the people become afraid of the unkown. They do not want to be confronted, because they are not sure themselves. This is not necessarily a bad thing to not be sure, but it is when it comes out in anger at another. The one common theme throughout all religion is love, however many people do not follow this simple doctrine, which can cause mass confusion. I am sorry that you have had such bad experiences with religion, and I hope that you keep researching to find out the truth.

1st- there were PLENTY enlightened civilizations around before us: the Native Americans, the Greeks, etc.
2nd- not all religious people hate on other religions. some of us have the understanding that not everyone is a drone and will think and feel the same way as we do.
3rd- EVEN THOUGH you judge others, doesn't mean that it is right, or the only way to be.
4th- i think that enough has been written about ALL the religions around the world, that the common theme is peace, love and happiness... period... so it doesn't matter whether you call it God, Buddha, Allah or whatever.
LAST- i think it is quite ironic that one of the people you pity, is yourself... you have mustered the hate/anger towards many people by belittling their faith and beliefs with your harsh words and opinions about their sanity... you seem smart enough to know that not all people are alike just by your criticisms... so please don't think that we are all haters.

You pity people for belief but what hard did that belief do them if in the end they were right. And who are you to say they were not civilized. Native Americans were thought to be uncivilized even though they had a form of writing and government and all types of thing that we consider civilized. You should get off your high horse and thing objectively for a minute. You honestly think we are more enlightened but we are just as savage as they were. We just kill and destroy in a different way.

Then you should look into the Society of New Reasoning which is a group that does not care what religious beliefs you have, or if you don't have any. The group simply lives according to right over wrong, or good over evil. It's much easier to decide what is morally wrong and leave all the religious arguments behind.

You are not hated, or at least not by me. I think that the reason there is so much conflict over religion is because of this:
-Christianity is true, but within it people have different ideas of how to practice it (Protestant, Catholic, etc.)
-Other religions are told that they are true and want everyone to believe that they are right
So a lot of people get frustrated when people don't believe them or ignore what they have to say. We are all human and so we all get frustrated.

What is your problem? IF God does not hate you...who cares what people think??? True Christians do not hate atheist and Muslims, and Buddhist and Hindu's...we just truly believe the teachings are false, and are part of Babylon the Great, which Jehovah is going to have the United Nations destroy, according to Revelation17:16.
Rev.18;4 Get out of her *my people,* if you so not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues. 5) For her sins have massed clear up to heaven and God has called her act of injustice to mind.
We love the people, but hate the teachings...that is why we talk so much..get it???

Hmmm...I guess the obvious question is why you bother spending time in the Religion & Spirituality section if you feel that way?
Jung would say that which bothers us in others, are those qualities that we have, but are unwilling to "own" or acknowledge. And so we repress them onto our "Shadow" from whence they are projected outward onto others, so that we can not escape dealing with our own psychological issues. It's the method by which the psyche works toward wholeness.
So, go forth armed with knowledge and confront this heinous quality in yourself that you have heretofore been unable to acknowlege, this abominable desire to believe in something eternal or divine!!

I do have to agree with you. I don't understand why everyone has to think that their way is right and convert everyone to what they believe. I think that the biggest thing that people are forgetting is that as long as you have faith in something is all that really matters. I come from a very open background in everything including religion. People just need to realize that it isn't about putting names to what you believe in.

The millions of others that don't agree with my beliefs (you say) are sinners and have turned away from God and we believers called them atheists,Buddhists, pagans, agnostics, some Jews,Muslims and Hindus etc...
God's existence is proved by the ones who reject him daily. To blame others for your non-beliefs is cowardice. People's characteristics should not persuade you. Human beings have flaws. Not ALL Believers of God act that way. God does not look religion but an individuals heart. If I am crazy for believing than you are crazy for not believing. (smile)
God bless you. I pray that your search hasn't ended.
(Hugs)
