Hot AIR rises, that's called convection.

But if you're cooking something in an oven, ALL the air in the oven is hot, this will transfer into the food by conduction, and heat the food all the way to the core, until it's the same temperature as the air it's sitting in.

If you're talking about a frying pan, then the pan is heating the air above it, which rises. But the food is touching the pan, and the heat is being transferred to the food through conduction again.

MIcrowaves use radiation to heat up the water molocules in food.

The heat is usually under the cookware you are using isn't it, except for broiling when the food rises up to meet the heat!
