I have watched The Dog Whisperer and it is pretty amazing to see Cesar work with all types of dogs.

Most of the problems I solve as a dog trainer are easy.
I go in and work with the dog and most act perfect for me. They do not know me and do not know what I will do.
I go in and present myself as the leader and do not take much crap off them. And it works. Most dogs know what the owner will and will not tolerate and they push the issue with the owner. But me I am a stranger and I come in and make them do things my way.
Once the owner sees they too can do it many problems are solved.
Cesar works well with dogs and he gets results. Most is common sense things and getting people to be in control instead of the dog in control.
I think if people watch the show and learn from it is it a great thing. I think any thing people read or see and put into practice is good for the pets and them.
Any time people spend time and work with their dogs it makes for a better dog and a better owner.

Let me tell you something ... my dog walkers watch it religiously, and they have provided me with SO much insight into my corgi's behaviors I really have to thank them for it.

I recently invited a friend over so our dogs could play together, but mine was being incredibly territorial, something I have never seen her do, and my friend said, "Oh no! I broke a really important rule I learned on the dog whisperer. We should have introduced our dogs on neutral territory."

Then we got to talking so much about dog psychology and she taught me SO much by just passing on things she had learned from the whisperer!

I love that show. I'm studying to do the same thing as well. I'm getting tired of seeing dogs getting put to sleep because people are too lazy to train them.

I have seen it, some of the things are "to dog people" common knowledge, some just common sense, and others amaze me completely.

I love this guy. He has taught me so much. Most of it is common sense that people forget. I would HIGHLY recommend his program and his books.

His training methods are outdated and sometimes dangerous. Most professional dog trainers hate him. A recent meeting of volunteer dog handlers that I was at just devolved into sighs and rolling of eyes when his name was brought up.

Dogs need guidance not Ceaser.
