I don't understand? How does a cat just disappear? Did you just wake up one day and the cat was no where to be found? If it ran away, did you ask your parents to help with posting flyers, calling shelters to file lost reports, search for the cat in the neighborhood? Were you helping to take of the cat or was it all your parents? Maybe your parents decided to find the cat another home because they got tired of taking care of your pet.

I feel really bad that you lost your beloved pet...they are indeed our "family" and we miss them very much when they are lost or not around for whatever the reason might be.
I suspect your parents were also heartbroken at the loss of your pet, especially when they saw the effect it had on you, and to save you any more anguish and heartbreak in the event this could happen again, they are trying to spare you this hardship in the future by keeping you from any further attachments to another pet.
They do these things because they love you.
Talk to your parents and try and convince them that there is something in your life that is missing now and you have a need to take on the responsibility of caring for and loving another one of God's creatures. They will listen and perhaps understand the value of your need.

If you really want a pet maybe you could convince your parents on getting one, maybe show them your responsible and will take very good care of this pet. Maybe you could start off with getting a easy to take care of pet like fish then your parents might let you work up to another cat, hope I helped.

I would ask my parents why they would not let you get a pet, and then if you lovecats sooo much perhaps you can volunteer at your local animal shelter and be around different cats all the time.

Most animal shelters also need people in the evenings and on weekends. You didn't give your age, but many shelters have a minimum age requirement. Good luck.

sometimes cats leave because the feel like you don't spend enough time or they rather live in the street (i'm not kidding)

The first stray I found I'd take him/her home and either beg to keep it or hide it as long as I could.
