i see you are being told to go for brand name products, but yet when you open up the inside of many brand names these days you will find many of the components are actually made by other manufactures anyhow, and some bigger names have now gone out of production on smaller tv's due to cost, now just get their brand names on products.

Symphonic has been around for quite a while. Usually associated with cheap and poor quality, but not always so. Don't expect a great quality picture but not terrible. Most small CRT based TVs are about the same anymore, even the more recognized brands. The name on the outside of the TV may not be the actual manufacturer. They are made cheap to sell cheap.

Cheap off brands are the best to get for your bedroom. You don't need to spend alot for a name brand for a tv in which you aren't going to watch/rent movies on. This brand should last you a while. I have an off brand 20" in my bedroom and it is 10 years old. Still works perfect and the picture is great. And I leave it on all day while I am at work so my dog can watch/listen to it.

symphonic maybe new to the ear.but the factory brand comes from the brand name "phonic". most of the time its not the brand nane that matters,it what the manufacturer is.most companies nowadays produce their sister companies in a way to expand sales. but most designs, circuit and parts are of the same as their own model.just be sure when you purchase one,you are clear in all about the warranty, guarantee etc,

TV now days comes in various type of brand. that's not weird if we have brands that never heard of. usually they are just okay, but maybe lack in maintenance. the spare parts maybe rare in shop. so it's kinda hard to get repaired.

If i were you, i'll buy TV from Sony, Panasonic or JVC for examples. the price maybe higher, but they have the quality and easy maintenance..spare parts were available..so they worth the money if compared with most new brands. so choose wisely.

this brand used to be made by Emerson. The problem is to find an authorized service facility in your area first if it has problems.

It may be cheap - but that's why it'll suck. Stick with name brands... it's touch and go with no names
