I have 4 cats and two of them are twin looking, one is older and female the other is young and male. But the younger male for some reason persist in smelling and licking the behind of the older female cat that looks like him. I've had cats almost all my life, and I've never seen a cat smell and\or lick the behind of another cat or animal. Is there something normal or natural about what the cat's doing or does the cat need to be checked in to the animal mental hospital?

this happens a lot. it is normally a sign of the female going into heat. even if she is spayed, female cats also go into "false" heat, where their bodys put off the attractant scent to the males that they are ready to mate.

Well I think you need to check the diet that your cats are getting. The only reason a cat-dog will usually eats poop is because they are lacking some key ingredient that they need in their diet. Talk with your vet about their diet. Their is no mental hospital for cats and no your animal is not mental, lol.

Now cats will normally lick other cats to clean them if they are related. My mom and son pair do that.

My parents have two cats who are brothers, both male. One usually will come up behind the other, sniff his rear and then take a bite. That in turn starts the evening romp. I think one just wants to play and that's the only way to get the other's attention.

One time I asked why my cats did this. I was told they are checking out what the other cat had for dinner!

This is common in cats. They wil bathe each other from time to tome. It's nothing to worry about.
