Luciano Pavarotti is My favorite, because I love his lyric voice color, I think, in my opinion he is the best. Placido Domingo is Pretty Good Too, I have met Placido in Puerto Rico when he was there singing Otello... I was singing in the choir at that time I was Voice Student at The Conservatory of Music.

Placido is an excellent person, down to earth, very kind and gentleman.

I have never met Pavarotti, I would love to.

Domingo is great, but I am torn between Pavarotti and Caruso. Jose Carares was cool too but not like the fat man was. Caruso sang with so much passion yet Pavarotti is the ultimate in accuracy and technique and I think he is a bit better than Domingo. That's just my opinion and what my ears tell me.

For me, I'd say Pavarotti and Mario Lanza for their beautiful tone and singing techniques. I'd also would have to add Domingo, Richard Tucker and Di Stefano to my list of favorite tenors.

This is gonna rifle some feathers but I also love Bocelli. To me, his singing tends to bring a little more warmth and emotion when he sings.

Andrea Bocelli. He puts so much more into his performance than the classic tenors. He emotes more. plus he just has a beautiful voice.

If we're talking classical, Luciano Pavarotti. Popular music, Adam Pascal.

Richard Tauber.
He was one of the greatest singers of the 20th century, and became highly popularized after singing in the operettas of Franz Lehar.

For pure beauty of voice, no one quite compares with Fritz Wunderlich.

Jussi Bjorling in several 50s recordings -- Boheme, Turandot. But Pavarotti is also great, in those same roles, in his 70s recordings. Tough call.
