Your Insurance Agent will be able to obtain a copy for you.

If you are on the policy as a "named insured" (meaning that the policy has your name on it) then you can just call your insurance agent or the company and request a copy. Your mortgage company would also have a copy, so you should be able to get it from them, too.

If your name isn't on the policy, then you're going to have a tough time getting a copy (maybe with a copy of your marriage license to prove you should have been on there in the first place). Most policies cover "named insured and spouse if living at the same address", so if you can prove you're the spouse they should give you a copy.

Good luck!

First of all you have to consider...why would you need it?
If you are no longer living there you should make every effort to get your name off the policy as quickly as possible to prevent any liability from passing through to you once the house is no longer in both of your names.

To get your policy just contact either the agent that sold it to you or your insurer.

You might even try your insurer's website and see if you can fill out an online request.

Call the agent and let them know you need a faxed copy of the Declarations page and if you want the policy booklet as well they can have the company mail one out to you.
