She does not SEE her former litter of kittens as her own anymore she sees them as outsiders. She will be territorial as long as she is pregnant AND has little ones about unweaned. She will also be very irritable about ppl touching her in any certain way.. she needs to be left alone and let her isolate a bit. This is all normal. I would suggest that you fix her .. it's not healthy for her to have too many litters, and her incidence of breast cancer goes up the longer she is not spayed. Good Luck and enjoy the babies. Take care!

I don't think that there is anything wrong with your cat. She knows that they are old enough to be on their own and no longer wants them around her. We had this happen to our cat. She didn't do it when she was having more. Her first litter she had 5 kittens, we saw them, and then later that same day they were born she brought us one of her kittens in her mouth like a mouse, it was dead. We went back to her bed and she had killed all of them. We took her to the vet to get fixed and we were told that she was already pregnant again and we couldn't it would be too harmful. When she had her second litter, she killed two of them and we took the rest away. They grew but when she saw them again, she hissed and tried to attack them. We eventually had to get rid of them.

Some cats are super frendly and other cats...well they just like to be left alone. Alone can include other cats from her previous litter and people who run her in the wrong spot.
This happening is totally normal. Basically it sounds like she is a cat who likes more alone time. You will have to provide some verbal disipline though if the cat gets too out of hand.

Some cats are just not very good mothers. It is the best to spay her as soon as possible. There are over a hundred cats put to sleep every WEEK in my city alone! If she has a second litter she has to attend to the younger ones first.

Get her fixed after this litter...I had a cat that had at least 2 litters before I adopted her and 2 after; I never got her fixed and it turned out that her going in and out of heat caused a problem with her uterus....maybe she's not feeling well....Also, does she have all her shots? Maybe she has distemper...I've heard of cats eating some of their litter if the babies aren't normal or don't "wake up" when cleaned....

Mother cats don't show much interest in their offspring after weaning and showing them how to get their own food.
Females lions stay around and become part of the pride. Males are driven off to fend for themselves. Other cats, leopards, tigers etc. force their offspring to find their own territories.
So it's not "natural" for a cat mother to have teenagers in her life, especially when she is taking responsibility for the next generation.
If you love your cat please have her spayed. Cats that breed even one time are statistically more prone to have mammary cancer later in their lives.
