I'm looking for my very first car. I don't need anything extremely fancy, but something that is pretty reliable. I was wondering if anyone had a good experience with a vehicle, or bad ones. I have about 3 grand to spend. Any in-put is appriciated.

Stick with something small and cheap on gas. An import usually holds its value and is reliable. Depending on what looks you prefer but the cheapest insurance be on a 4 door sedan. Hard to find much for 3 grand that you know will be very reliable. Stay away from ford escorts and geo metros even though cheap. Maybe a honda civic for that price around the early 90's or so. Maybe a nissan sentra or small toyota sometime in the mid 90's. Might be able to find a small truck if u prefer that but won't be as cheap on gas or insurance. Just stay away from anything to sporty will pay more than the 3 thousand in insurance and gas with the price it is now.

Get something foreign, so to speak, honda, toyota, nissan. They will last you for quite sometime if you find a decent one.
